Artist Mary Theisen-Helm painted in Wisconsin, national, and international locations for over 50 years. Her work is an expression of emotions, color, and feeling that she saw and captured in her subjects. From serene landscapes, vivid florals, and wild and compelling abstracts, to the capture of the human figure, she used every style and medium at her disposal to achieve the effect or mood she desired. She switched back and forth from watercolor, oil, pastel, charcoal, caustic, tempera, woodblock, or lithograph. There is a freedom of expression in her diverse work and subject matter that can be easily felt by the viewer. Her artwork is included in local, regional, and national private and museum collections.
